The Little Things is more than an art studio—it’s an invitation to pause, notice, and reconnect.
Hi, I’m Katie.
I’m Katie Fingland—an artist, certified K–12 art teacher, and the heart behind The Little Things.
Since 2005, I’ve had the joy of teaching art to students of all ages, spending the past two decades teaching K–8 art here in Colorado. But it was loss—and the quiet realization of how fleeting life can be—that reshaped how I see art, memory, and meaning.
Art became a way to remember.
A way to stay present.
A way to celebrate life as it is.
Why the little things?
The little things are never really little. They’re the places we love. The seasons that change us. The quiet moments we wish we could hold on to. Through my work, I help you collect those moments—and capture them in art—so they don’t slip away.
In a fast-moving, tech-driven world, The Little Things is a gentle refuge—inviting you to slow down, notice the quiet beauty of everyday life, and cherish what truly matters.
If something here resonates, you’re invited to explore the shop or connect with me here.
“I’m convinced that if we begin to notice the little glimmers in our daily lives, we’d all be able to be more present in a world set on making life rush by too quickly.”

What I believe
Art is about presence, not perfection.
Beauty lives in the ordinary and overlooked.
Handmade work carries emotion, story, and soul.
Slowing down is a form of care.
This is a space for noticing, remembering, and celebrating life—one small moment at a time.
