11×14 sized paper (8×10 printed area) original gelli plate acrylic printmaking and mixed media painting of a variety of poppy flower blooms with light blue background. Acrylic paint original gelli print and mixed media pencils, oil pastels, neopastels added to create depth and texture.
Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch is part of The Poppy Collection by artist Katie Fingland. Each piece of art from this collection is inspired by the loss of the artists’ father, Poppe, and the poppy flowers she grew in remembrance of him. The title of each artwork in this poppy flower painting and art collection is a nod to a song title or quote from a Motown song—Poppe’s favorite music—and how his spirit and memory live on for the artist.
